Quick answer
Pay From Profit is a ForRealFunding challenge where you pay 50% of the program fee at checkout, pass a real 1-Step or 2-Step evaluation, and the other 50% is deducted from your first payout. If that payout is smaller than the balance, the rest comes out of your next payout(s). After checkout you never pay anything out of pocket — and if you don't pass, the 50% you paid is all it cost you.
It sits between the other two ways to buy a challenge: lower upfront than Standard, and no post-pass bill like Pay After You Pass. The full overview, with every price and rule, is on the Pay From Profit page.
How the deduction works
- 1Checkout: you pay half the program fee.
- 2Evaluation: you trade the same evaluation as Pay After Pass — a 4% target (3% in 2-Step Phase 2), 8% daily and 15% max loss, no minimum days, no time limit.
- 3Funded: you pass, complete a one-time KYC check, and your funded account is created. No second bill.
- 4First payout: the unpaid half is deducted from your share of the profit. Anything left over carries to the next payout until it's covered.
Example 1 — a $25K 2-Step
The fee is $168.99. You pay $84.50 at checkout and pass both phases. In your first funded cycle you make 4% — $1,000 — so your 90% share is $900. The remaining $84.49 is deducted, and you receive $815.51. Every payout after that is yours in full.
Example 2 — a $500K 1-Step with a small first payout
You pay $1,190.00 at checkout, leaving $1,189.99 to come from payouts. Your first payout share is $800: all of it goes toward the balance, and $389.99 carries to your second payout, which pays you the rest. You never top it up yourself.

Once funded, the profit split is 90% (100% with the profit-split add-on), and your fee comes back as 120% of your challenge fee, paid alongside your 5th payout. Firm-wide trading rules (prohibited strategies, account sharing and the like) are on the rules page.
Who it suits — and who it doesn't
It suits traders who want to pay less upfront than a Standard challenge but don't want to find the rest of the fee in cash the day they pass. The account pays for itself.
It doesn't suit traders who mainly want the cheapest attempt: Pay After Pass starts at $9.99 for the same total fee. And if you reliably pass first time, a Standard challenge is usually cheaper overall and refunds sooner. We compare all three in Pay From Profit vs Pay After Pass vs Standard.
How to start
Go to pricing, choose Pay From Profit under "How you pay", pick 1-Step or 2-Step and your account size, and check out for half the fee.
Frequently Asked Questions
5 questions answered
How does Pay From Profit work?
You pay 50% of the program fee at checkout and take a real 1-Step or 2-Step evaluation. Once you're funded, the other 50% is deducted from your first payout. If the first payout doesn't cover it, the rest comes out of the next payout(s). You never pay it out of pocket.
What happens if I fail a Pay From Profit challenge?
You lose only the 50% you paid at checkout. The other half is only ever taken from payouts, so if you never get funded, nothing more is owed.
Is Pay From Profit the same as Pay After Pass?
No. Both have the same evaluation rules and the same total fee, but Pay After Pass charges $9.99 to start and bills the balance to you after you pass, while Pay From Profit charges 50% upfront and takes the balance from your payouts instead.
Does Pay From Profit include a fee refund?
Yes — 120% of your challenge fee, paid alongside your 5th payout. It comes later than on Standard (3rd payout) or Pay After Pass (4th payout).
Can I use discount codes on Pay From Profit?
No. Discount codes apply to Standard challenges only; Pay From Profit is already priced at 50% upfront.
